Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon can still dominate
The Cleveland Browns are taking on a massive roster overhaul, but that doesn’t mean that WR Josh Gordon isn’t up to his old tricks — on the field…
The Cleveland Browns have taken on a roster overhaul for the ages, and while the youth on this team is overwhelming, they are almost certain to get fireworks weekly from quarterback Robert Griffin III and wide receiver Josh Gordon.
Gordon, in his first action since the 2014 regular season finale, looked like he is about to be up to his old tricks after serving a four game suspension to start the year.
Griffin has done a great job of slinging the ball downfield this preseason, and Gordon got in the mix with two catches for 87 yards and a touchdown.
It was just like their days at Baylor…

There’s obviously no guarantee with Gordon because of his track record with the league, but if he’s on the field for 12 games this season, it doesn’t look like he’s going to have a hard time doing what once made him the league’s leading receiver.
As the Browns continue to develop their crop of young receivers as well as bring along Robert Griffin as the starter, the way Gordon played in the team’s third preseason game should provide plenty of optimism for the passing attack. The Browns already have a Pro Bowl tight end in Gary Barnidge, and there are plenty of options to create some opportunities outside of Gordon, including the third member of the former Baylor trio, Corey Coleman.
Gordon’s ability to stretch the field and RG3’s ability to throw the deep ball are a match made in football heaven.
