Alec Ogletree (Los Angeles Rams)

Where is the attention in 2016 for the Los Angeles Rams? That’s an easy answer. When it’s not on rookie #1 overall pick Jared Goff, it will be on the guy he’s handing the ball off to in Todd Gurley. That backfield is loaded with star potential and fans will be talking about them almost constantly moving forward. Yet it’s easy to forget that this is still a team defined by its defense and there is one guy who has been pushed out of memory almost entirely.

Such is how it goes when one misses 12 games with injury like Alec Ogletree did. Yet in the four games he did play last season, it was clear the young linebacker was poised for a breakout season. He made 42 tackles in that span while also collecting two sacks. The patience of head coach Jeff Fisher and defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has begun to pay off. Staying healthy is the only remaining obstacle given the kind of defensive front he plays behind.
