Week 14 @ Detroit Lions

There is no doubt one of the most key and frustrating defeats of 2015 came right before the bye week when the Bears were defeated by the Detroit Lions 37-34 in overtime. It was a game many felt Chicago should’ve won for a multitude of reasons, not the least of which was a series of badly blown calls by the referees. Regardless this is a game that the Bears are sure to have circled. The first step in their quest to join the NFC North fray is being able to beat the next worse team in the division. That’s the Lions, whom they haven’t beaten since 2012.

Of course Detroit still deserves some respect given what they did last year, but this is not the same Bears team they’ll be facing. Nor will they be the same team they were either. This will mark the first time since 2006 that the Lions have hosted Chicago at Ford Field without their star wide receiver Calvin Johnson. If there was one man outside of Aaron Rodgers who gave the Bears defense fits for so many years, it was Megatron. Last year alone he had over 300 yards and two TDs in their two meetings. Not having to worry about him will be a welcome blessing.
