player. 35. Trading Dorial Green-Beckham made sense in a number of ways. A new head coach and GM means the regime might have a different idea of the types of players they want on their roster. Green-Beckham is an obvious talent but his history of personality problems weren’t something the Titans wanted to keep around. Even so, his exit leaves the receiving options for Marcus Mariota in a state a flux. There is some talent with guys like Kendall Wright, Tajae Sharpe and Rishard Matthews. Just no real go-to guys for a young QB to lean on.
Before an unlucky neck injury at the beginning of last year, Mike Williams was already showing people he was becoming that type of player. Another in a long line of legitimate talents at wide receiver out of Clemson, he showcases the complete package of size-speed-athleticism. Yet it goes beyond that. Williams has a solid pair of hands that can deliver some pretty nifty catches in tough situations and he shows a consistent ability to get himself open. There are still things to work on but his upside is just what this team needs.
. WR. Clemson. Mike Williams . 6
