3. San Diego Chargers

player. 13. Like any other quarterback in the business, Philip Rivers is at the mercy of his pass protection. The worse it is, the less effective and more mistake-prone he becomes. That was the case last season as the San Diego Chargers offensive line was decimated by injuries. During this offseason it’s clear they’re banking on good health solving the problem. That and the addition of veteran center Matt Slauson. Still, it doesn’t cover up an ongoing problem they’ve had at left tackle. King Dunlap was never more than an average blocker at that position and the time is coming where the team needs to think about upgrading.
Alabama tackle Cam Robinson endured a rough offseason thanks to some off-the-field problems, but prior to that he was the highest-rated tackle going into this year. He’s got plenty of size, is effective as a run blocker and showcases the strong hands and quick feet required for pass protection. If he can stay out of trouble in 2016, there is no doubt teams will be willing to draft him this high. He has that much upside.
. OT. Alabama. Cam Robinson . 3
