28. player. 45. People attribute the Gary Kubiak offense almost universally with being able to run the football. While that is true, they can often forget how important the tight end position is too. It was Shannon Sharpe in Denver. It was Owen Daniels in Houston. Now Kubiak must find somebody who can make that position effective for the Broncos again. Maybe that will be Virgil Green, but some are skeptical about that. Odds are the team will likely seek a more proven upgrade next year, and Jake Butt would be their kind of guy.

The Michigan tight end is under the strict tutelage of Jim Harbaugh, who has proven himself a master at developing the position. Butt has the size and strength to become an effective blocker on the edge but it’s his length and solid speed that make him a true threat in the passing game. He has the ability to see the ball into his hands without losing concentration, regardless if the catch is contested or not. There are still things for him to work on, but based on his rapid progress in 2015, his ceiling is sky high.
. TE. Michigan. Jake Butt
