22. Oakland Raiders

Ben Heeney is a smart, tough and dedicated player. He is also a limited one. Middle linebackers traditionally should have considerable range and athleticism to cover sideline to sideline. Heeney was never known much for either, instead being more of a downhill, tackle to tackle type guy. While the Oakland Raiders love his spirit, they also know finding a more versatile replacement could increase the effectiveness of their defense. That always is and should be the goal.
Northwestern standout Anthony Walker is average in terms of height but his tape and production don’t lie. The young linebacker is all over the field at times. He tracks down ball carriers and gets them on the ground without fail. His speed and change-of-direction are enough that he can play pass coverage as well, so he never has to leave the field. Even better he’s excellent when allowed to go forward, showcasing an ability to shoot gaps as a blitzer for sacks and tackles for loss.
. ILB. Northwestern. Anthony Walker . 22. player. 28
