Sean Mannion

Two major quarterback situations over the past year have caused a sort of disappearing act for Sean Mannion. The first was the concussion fiasco involving veteran Case Keenum and the failure of the Los Angeles Rams coaching staff to pull him from a game where he was clearly exhibiting system. Later it was of course their blockbuster trade with the Titans for the #1 overall pick in the draft, enabling them to select rookie Jared Goff.

It’s amazing how quickly those two situations made Mannion, a former 3rd round pick irrelevant. Yet now with those two at the top of the depth chart, his chances of making any sort of headway in the NFL with the Rams is negligible. Still at 6’5″ with a strong enough arm he should hold the interest of several teams. His preseason debut where he torched the Cowboys for three touchdown passes was a welcome sign of his progress.
