26. player. 57. Optimism is high with the Chicago Bears of late. Under the direction of GM Ryan Pace and head coach John Fox the team has changed its culture. Most of the flamboyant personalities like Brandon Marshall and Martellus Bennett are gone. The roster is younger, faster and more athletic than its been in years. The one sticking point that keeps them low in the rankings is the simple fact that they haven’t proven anything yet.

The Bears have finished 5-11 and 6-10 over their past two season. This is not a team that has learned out to win and their ugly performance in the preseason opener showed how much work there is left to do. Dowell Loggains needs to seize control of that offense and Vic Fangio must continue to mold his young defense into what everybody thinks it can be. That will take more time. Until then there are where they belong.
. . . Chicago Bears
