player. 31. The Tom Coughlin era is over. Ben McAdoo is at the helm for the New York Giants and he has some gigantic shoes to fill. The team did everything they could this offseason to help him get off on the right foot, including a degree of spending in free agency they almost never do. Hopes are high that Janoris Jenkins, Olivier Vernon and Damon Harrison will be enough to lift what has been a mediocre defense back to its customary spot among the NFL’s best.
Yet the fate of this Giants team rests on the right arm of Eli Manning. Everything points to the passing game being their strength. Odell Beckham Jr. is a superstar. Victor Cruz is finally back healthy and rookie 2nd round pick Sterling Shepard is tearing up training camp. Manning went to his fourth Pro Bowl last season and is poised for an encore. Provided he can avoid too many turnovers, the odds favor a New York resurgence in the NFC East.
. . . New York Giants . 15
