New York Jets . 16. player. 30. Even when almost everything went right for the New York Jets in 2015, they still weren’t able to make the playoffs. So it will take something special for them to do it this year with what is an aging roster. Ryan Fitzpatrick, Matt Forte, Brandon Marshall, Nick Mangold, Darrelle Revis and David Harris are 30-years old or above. That represents almost the entire core of the Jets roster. History isn’t usually kind to teams who rely so heavily on veterans like that.
They are going to need big contributions for younger players who haven’t done much yet. Players like Jace Amaro, Devin Smith, Lorenzo Mauldin, and Dee Milliner. So far there are few signs that will be happening. Maybe the Jets are able to avoid serious injuries like last year, but the smart money says they won’t. This might be their best opportunity to dethrone New England in the AFC East. Distractions can no longer be tolerated.
. .
