It’s Not All or Nothing

Amazon did an incredible job producing All or Nothing, and set an industry-wide standard on how to cover the National Football league.

All or Nothing has been a recurring theme in the previous four examples. Bruce Arians brought energy, players brought personality, the show gave us insight to the NFL Draft, and the important players who carried much of the storyline were given airtime.

Involvement of the team owner and general manager was also key in Hard Knocks. We have not seen owner Stan Kroenke, and have seldom seen general manager Les Snead. Amazon brought us into their personal lives, and gave us more personalities to cling onto.

Even having a camera focused on Bruce Arians wife during the games to show how family reacts brought the show onto an entirely different level.

Perhaps Hard Knocks will ramp up their coverage of the Los Angeles Rams as training camp continues and the games get underway, but they failed to give us a product we can appreciate and enjoy.

But even though Hard Knocks disappointed, audiences will tune into HBO on Tuesday night at 10 o’clock with the hopes that Hard Knocks can be great again.
