The NFL preseason is at hand after months of waiting. Fans are eager to see what sort of progress the Chicago Bears have made in that time.

Of course everybody knows the result of the game itself doesn’t matter, but that doesn’t mean the contest is totally worthless. After all, the Bears will be playing another roster for the first time this year and it’s a roster that is fresh off winning the Super Bowl in the Denver Broncos. A solid performance, even on an exhibition scale would be a good indicator of where the team is at and how much they’ve improved since the end of last season.

This week one preview will detail everything to look for when the game begins from the key roster battles set to take place, to the injured players worth watching for, to the players who are most in need of a good performance in order to either secure a roster spot or a starting job. Don’t expect a prediction of a final score. This is about roster evaluation and silent prayers that everybody can stay healthy.
