The Cleveland Browns assembled a strong young cast of receivers this offseason, further fortified by the return of Josh Gordon…

Cleveland Browns fans have reason — perhaps many — to be excited about their young wide receiver group. The combination of size, speed, and quickness added to what I would consider among the worst groups of pass catchers I’ve seen in recent memory is not to be taken lightly.

Pierre Desir got to know Rashard Higgins pretty well at Browns camp…

And here’s Robert Griffin III dropping a dime to Corey Coleman…

And Jordan Payton back for training camp…

It’s not that they are all going up against elite defensive backs right now in game action. It’s just practice. However, this is a very talented young group of receivers and we didn’t even touch on Terrelle Pryor or fourth round pick Ricardo Louis.

With RG3’s fresh start, this could be a formula of success for the Browns that someday they will look back on this class of players and wonder how they got so fortunate to get them all on the same roster at one time. There’s so much talent, and the Browns have the coaching to handle it.

Hue Jackson and offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton will be able to get the best out of these young players, and while much depends on the success of RG3, I think this group of players will make life easier for him. Having Josh Gordon back five weeks into the season is going to be the biggest addition the Browns have at the position, but first round pick Corey Coleman is going to be an instant impact with his speed and big play ability.

As if things weren’t crazy enough, the Browns have Chad Ochocinco around as a coaching assistant for a brief period.

Things might be starting to get back on the right track in Cleveland as it pertains to the passing game, and it doesn’t deal with LeBron James making full-court passes to Kevin Love or Kyrie Irving.

These young Browns receivers look like they could take the NFL world by storm in 2016.
