Charles Leno Jr.

There wasn’t a whole lot of hoopla made back in 2014 when the Bears made Boise State tackle Charles Leno Jr. their final pick of that draft in the 7th round. Initial impressions were they got a big kid with some nice athletic traits that could make a decent backup if developed properly. Lo and behold two years later he is their starting left tackle. Not just that, but the team hasn’t made any move to provide him with significant competition.

GM Ryan Pace said earlier this year that he and the coaches were very impressed with his progress last season and believe he can be their long-term answer at that position. It’s quite a rise for somebody who barely made the roster during his rookie season.
