Interesting hire of Barry Odom as he is Missouri. He’s played there, worked in the administration offices, as well as coach on the sidelines. While his hiring was interesting, as was his recruiting outlook as he plucked a number of prospects who are already acclimated to collegiate-level football with JUCO additions. Having a former Heisman runner-up as his OC molding the young quarterback in Drew Lock is a strategic move that will definitely pay dividends.

Something that is also in their favor, the Tigers have a defense with solid pass rushers, a good secondary, and a few athletic linebackers to lean on. For an offense that was 124th overall last season, the defense will have to be called upon a little more often. The offense will make strides but to expect a unit to have a massive improvement with a new offensive coordinator, a couple of new faces at the skill positions, and a retooled offensive line with four new starters is expecting a lot.

The team will be better all-around in 2016 and if the team can win five games last season with an anemic offense, a rugged defense, and the dark cloud of controversy hanging over the institution, then they can certainly get bowl eligible this season as the offense will be better based on a more physical run game and a more polished QB in Lock.

Prediction: 6-6, 4th in SEC East Division
