One of the biggest departures from the team was linebacker Kentrell Brothers who placed eighth all-time in the school’s history in career tackles. Brothers has posted back-to-back seasons of 100+ tackles and tallied 152 tackles this past season along with 12.5 tackles for loss. The productive defender will be a key loss for the team. Second leading rusher Russell Hansbrough also departs due to graduation after rushing for 2,344 yards and 15 touchdowns in his career.

The Tigers also lost key members on the offensive line with center Evan Boehm off to the NFL. Boehm started 52 straight games and was a vital part of the offensive line over the years as well as left guard Conner McGovern, who was arguably the best offensive lineman on the team in 2015. On top of those integral losses, the transfer of former quarterback Maty Mauk was also a significant loss of the program even with the presence of Drew Lock. The season may have actually been a bowl season with Mauk on the field and his production.
