Coaching Staff

Richt has assembled a coaching staff that has noteworthy backgrounds. Offensive coordinator Thomas Brown was running backs coach at Wisconsin and Georgia the past two seasons. Wide receivers coach Ron Dugans provides the unit a coach with collegiate/NFL experience. Richt also tabbed Manny Diaz to be the defensive coordinator, who has had previous stops at Middle Tennessee, Mississippi State, and Texas.

One of the underrated signings to the staff was defensive line coach Craig Kuligowski. He gained respectability from his work at the University of Missouri by coaching NFL players such as Sheldon Richardson, Shane Ray, Kony Ealy, and Aldon Smith.

The implementation of the staff has restored a little swagger within the program. Whether or not the staff as a whole will succeed is of course something that will take time.

Richt barely kept an holdovers from Golden’s staff which is actually a single step in a positive direction.
