For many within the Miami Hurricanes fan base, the ending of Al Golden’s tenure was more of a festive period instead of the opposite. An embarrassing loss to the Clemson Tigers in late October turned off the lights for Golden and shined the spotlight on former Hurricanes quarterback Mark Richt.

The 15-year head coach at the University of Georgia was set free by the Bulldogs only to walk into the waiting arms of his old stomping grounds as a member of the team during the early 80s.

Waiting for Richt in Coral Gables is a roster of talent, a hungry fan base, an anxious administration, and a chip on his own shoulder. The hiring of Richt in December 2015 salvaged recruiting for Miami for the 2016 campaign and beyond and suddenly, things are looking up for the program.

Things were looking up at the conclusion of an NCAA investigation in fall of 2013 but this time seems different. Chapter one of this interesting story is the 2016 season so here is the detailed preview of the upcoming season for the Miami Hurricanes.
