Impact Freshmen

Whether the coaching staff likes it or not, the roster will have to depend on more freshmen than they probably intended to. The program has two four-star quarterbacks in Jake Bentley (son of RB coach Bobby) and Brandon Mcllwain who will add to three other quarterbacks already on the roster. Wide receiver Bryan Edwards will see early playing time as the team is in need of a few receivers to stand out and Randrecous Davis gives the Gamecocks another four-star receiver along with Edwards that can inject some juice into the offense. Keep an eye on 6’2 228 pound athlete Kiel Pollard out of Moultrie, Georgia. His size can create a few mismatches as he plans to see time at the receiver position.

The trenches need a little rejuvenating so keep tabs on 6’5 defensive end Javon Kinlaw and defensive end Keir Thomas, both three-stars. Akeem Cooperwood is a 6’8 340 pound wall that can be an asset to the offensive line in need of some help.
