Departed Players

Technically, Pharoh Cooper has three seasons under his belt as a Gamecock but majority of his work as a statistical machine came in 2014-15. Cooper and his talent earned him first team All-SEC honors in back-to-back seasons and his presence will truly be missed. 2015 leading rusher Brandon Wilds also departs after rushing for 567 yards and three touchdowns. Athletic tight end Jerell Adams is no longer around as well, which is significant due to Adams being second on the team in catches, yards, and receiving TDs behind Cooper in 2015.

He has not departed the program but the defense will be missing a lot with Moore being done for the 2016 season due to a neck injury. Second leading tackler Isaiah Johnson and his 73 tackles has departed also and the same can be said for fourth leading tackler T.J. Gurley. If you’re keeping count, that’s three of the team’s top four tacklers in 2015 out of the lineup. Something that is definitely detrimental to a new staff trying to establish an identity.
