College Football Preview: Georgia Bulldogs
Departed Players
The Dawgs bring back a number of starters but the faces that have moved on from the program were arguably the most impactful players last season. The university will no longer have the services of Mitchell as stated above, as he set career-highs in receptions, yards, and TDs during his senior season. The team also watches as two very good pass rushers head to the NFL with Leonard Floyd going in the first round to the Chicago Bears and Jordan Jenkins going in the third to the Jets. Both Floyd and Jenkins ended their collegiate career eighth and tenth respectively in career sacks at UGA.
Running back Keith Marshall underachieved greatly at Georgia due to injuries but his talent was still very useful when healthy. Longtime left tackle John Theus has departed as well after being selected third team All-SEC last season. All seasoned veterans whose departures are up to Smart and his staff to fill.
