Greg Hardy is finally getting some looks as camp approaches

NFL teams will be opening up training camp over the next two weeks, and several veterans are still looking for work. One of those is former Carolina Panthers pass rusher Greg Hardy, who has been all-but shunned by the league after domestic violence accusations.

Until earlier this week, no NFL teams have reached out to Hardy about playing in 2016.

The one team that did bring the 27-year-old in: the Jacksonville Jaguars. NFL Network Insider Rand Getlin reports that Hardy has spent the past two days working out with the Jaguars.

Jason Cole has reported no contract is imminent, and Mike Garafolo says the team has been talking to team leaders and coaches about the possibility of bringing in someone with Hardy’s background.

Jaguars owner Shad Kan said earlier this week to USA Today the Jacksonville fans have “suffered long enough” and that :we should have ambitions for the postseason now.”

More from NFL Mocks

Jacksonville has made some fairly impressive additions to their team over the past two seasons, despite only managing five wins in 2015. They’ve beefed up on both sides of the ball, thanks to the draft additions of quarterback Blake Bortles, wide receiver Allen Robinson, defensive back Jalen Ramsey, and linebacker Myles Jack.

Throw veteran free agents Chris Ivory and Malik Jackson into the mix of promising, young stars and you have a potential future in Jacksonville.

Adding Hardy to the Jaguars defensive line would just add to an already strong amount of depth in the front seven. Hardy would be working with Jackson, 2014 first round pick Dante Fowler, Jared Odrick, and rookie Yannick Ngakoue out of Maryland.

After being cut by the Panthers following a domestic violence investigation, Hardy was signed by the Dallas Cowboys, and served a suspension at the beginning of the season. He had six sacks in 12 games for the Cowboys following his four game suspension.
