Coaching Staff

Here is what is known for sure. John Fox is a good head coach. He got the team to win more games and play with greater effort and discipline in just one season. His reputation speaks for itself. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio lived up to his reputation as well, improving a unit from 30th to 14th last season while also making the difficult transition from a 4-3 scheme to a 3-4. His staff remains firmly intact with plenty of continuity.

The huge elephant in the room for the Chicago Bears coaching staff, as has almost become routine is the offensive coordinator job. For the third-straight season it will be a new man calling plays from the sideline. Adam Gase is gone, having taken a head coaching job in Miami. His replacement is quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains, a promising young mind who seems to have the respect of Jay Cutler along with an attitude and swagger that players are already picking up on. Whether he can improve upon what Gase started is the linger question.

He has prior experience as a coordinator but that was only for a season-and-a-half before he was fired in Tennessee. Nobody ever got a real idea of what he could do calling the shots. There is no doubt that he has the respect of the quarterback, but the same cannot be said of the rest of the league. Hence why expectations remain low for that unit.
