Key Starters

Two words: Leonard Fournette.

He’s the face and heartbeat of LSU, not to mention the best player in the entire country. Following a historic sophomore season in which Fournette compiled 1,953 rushing yards and 23 total touchdowns, the 2,000-yard mark now appears to be a reality for the Heisman Trophy frontrunner.

As far as importance goes on the roster, Brandon Harris would have to be next up. The junior Bossier City native isn’t the most polished quarterback in the SEC, but he’s a difference-maker on the Tigers and the deciding factor on a team that’s banking on a big leap in production from the passing game.

On the outside, Harris will rely on the likes of Malachi Dupre and Travin Dural to open up the offense. The duo possesses the playmaking ability and size – both are no shorter that 6-foot-2 – to make Les Miles’ vision of a more modern passing attack come to life.

One of the better units in college football is led by one of the game’s top defenders in the form of Kendell Beckwith. He’ll line up behind an enormous defensive line that includes 2015 freshman phenom Arden Key and Lewis Neal, the returning team-leader in sacks (eight).

The secondary is headed up by cornerback Tre’ Davious White and safety Jamal Adams, top-5 players at their respective positions.

Loaded would be the word to describe the Tigers, as it’s clear as to why they’re once again considered championship contenders.
