Key Players/Starters

In order for the Bears to earn success in 2016, quarterback Seth Russell must have the season of his career. As stated earlier, the Bears are still full of talent and that is especially on the offensive side of the ball. Linwood and Jefferson are looking to continue their success from last season and now Cannon is the main guy as the #1 receiver for the offense. Cannon is more than capable with 108 catches in his two seasons so far in Waco. Center Kyle Fuller is the only returning starter from last season on the offensive line. Four brand new starters on an offensive line can dictate a lot over the course of a season.

On the defensive side of the ball, Taylor Young and Aiavion Edwards (61 tackles, two sacks in 2015) are the two key members of the linebacker corps and in the secondary safeties Orion Stewart (64 tackles, three pass breakups) and Chance Waz (70, 3 PDs). Baylor will have new starters on the defensive line with defensive ends KJ Smith and Brian Nance along with defensive tackle Byron Bonds.
