Miami Dolphins:  The Larry Little trade

On the surface this trade looked about as boring to the fans as it could possibly be. Mack Lamb was a defensive back who’d spent two unremarkable years in Miami. Larry Little was a guard out of tiny Bethune-Cookman who’d gone undrafted and played two seasons for San Diego. The two teams decided to swap the players based on needs. Lamb never played a down for the Chargers. Little on the other hand became one of the great steal of all-time.

He was an All-Star his first year with the Dolphins and became the anchor of their offensive line when the team began its rise to dominance in the early 1970s. With his help they featured one of the greatest rushing attacks ever and paved the way to three-straight Super Bowl appearances, two titles and an undefeated season in 1972. Little made four more Pro Bowls and also was a five-time All-Pro. By the time he retired, the franchise was considered among the NFL elite. Little would end up in the Hall of Fame not long after that.
