NFC East: Prediction For Each Team
Philadelphia Eagles: Linebackers Jordan Hicks & Mychal Kendricks will total 100+ tackles apiece
The Eagles may have had a Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate in Jordan Hicks before the talented linebacker tore his pectoral in a Week 9 game against Dallas. In eight games of action with five starts, Hicks put together 49 tackles, two INTs, three fumble recoveries, and a defensive TD. Kendricks himself put in 13 games with 81 tackles and three sacks.
Pre-training camp depth chart shows both Hicks and Kendricks as the starters at middle and weak-side linebacker, respectively. Both linebackers are athletic, speedy, and equally capable of being young linchpins. Keep in mind that both are playing behind a stout defensive line led by defensive tackle Fletcher Cox and defensive end Connor Barwin. Enough skill on the line to occupy offensive linemen and free Hicks and Kendricks to roam and make plays.
Maintain a close eye on these two stallions at the linebacker position. The key for both will be of course to stay healthy for majority of the season, especially Hicks as the team is truly counting on his playmaking ability to man the middle linebacking position. The two of them will provide Philadelphia one of the best linebacker tandems in the entire league.
