They call it the wild, wild west for a reason.

The Denver Broncos turned a dicey situation at the quarterback position in a Super Bowl championship. Only to hand the reigns over to Mark Sanchez and with clear instructions to “not mess things up”. Can Sanchez lead the Broncos into a deep playoff run with a top-notch defense? That remains to be seen. Speaking of waiting, San Diego Chargers fans are still waiting for the hire of Mike McCoy to pay dividends. Three seasons and 22 wins still leave a lot left to be desired.

If you’re looking for a team who could very well work their way into the playoff picture, take a look at the Oakland Raiders. A team with a skilled quarterback, underrated receiver corps, an up-and-coming linebacker, and last but not least, a chip on the team’s shoulder. For the Kansas City Chiefs, the assets are enough to win a few playoff games. It’s up to head coach Andy Reid to put it all together. For the sake of the long NFL offseason, here is a prediction for each AFC West team.
