The New England Patriots might have found one of the draft’s top underrated players in WR Devin Lucien out of Arizona State…

The New England Patriots have become known for their ability to squeeze as much out of their draft classes as possible, and that includes their top picks all the way down to the seventh rounders. This year, the found Devin Lucien out of Arizona State who is considered to have some of the best hands in the draft.

Here’s analysis from Pro Football Focus, who thought Lucien to be one of the best sleepers in the pre-draft process:

“He may not be good enough to rival the top players at receiver in this draft, but Devin Lucien is a productive, talented player who deserves far more hype than he is currently receiving. He may have the best hands in the draft, and is good enough at everything else to be able to contribute at the NFL level and be productive. Fixing his quarterback situation alone should dramatically improve his impact.”

I’d say he got into a fixed quarterback situation, alright…

Who knows how long Lucien will wind up playing with Brady. Perhaps things won’t even work out this year, but it sounds like this is the type of player New England is going to be able to bring along and possibly make an impact as a rookie.

He has good size, strong hands, and is obviously an incredibly talented player.

The Patriots have struggled to find a great fit as an outside receiver in their offense over the last few years. They have no shortage of great slot players and of course Rob Gronkowski at the tight end position. Perhaps now, Lucien and fellow rookie Malcolm Mitchell can come in and provide the spark on the outside that will add another dimension to an already phenomenal offense with the Patriots…
