The Alabama coaching staff had some turnover, like they do every year. They lost defensive coordinator Kirby Smart, defensive line coach Bo Davis, secondary coach Mel Tucker, and several other assistants on both sides of the ball. But they were able to adeptly fill in those spots with ex-secondary coach Jeremy Pruitt, NFL defensive line coach Karl Dunbar, and DBs coach Derrick Ansley from Kentucky.

The offense is in beyond capable hands with Lane Kiffin calling the shots as he has proved the last two years. He has also helped ease the quarterback turnover after grooming Blake Sims and Jake Coker to the point where they made it to the playoffs. He has also shown the ability to get the ball into the hands of their biggest playmakers seeing as he has had two Heisman finalists at skill positions in the past two years, including 2015’s winner, Derrick Henry.

Alabama’s offense will be in good hands this season, their defense looks to keep on trucking with a familiar face in charge now, and the man overseeing it all is still the best in the game. Nick Saban’s coming off one of his best coached games of the year against Clemson when he called a very gutsy onside kick which ultimately flipped the switch and started the Tide’s run to seal the title.

With four titles under his belt at Alabama, a very talented coaching staff that will limit the effect of the turnover, and the continuous top tier recruiting by Saban has put Alabama in position to win it’s fifth title in seven years.
