So many things go into changing the outlook of a pro football team.  That is why each 2017 NFL mock draft, despite being so early, can look so different.

Maybe it’s an injury here, a puzzling cut or trade there or maybe enough time has elapsed to help some realize that a roster move wasn’t as good (or bad) as initially thought.  It may be the middle of summer and the 2016 season yet to be played, but there are still so many different ways things can break in the next few months that it’s impossible to cover them all.  For the time being it’s best to explore which teams look like shoe-ins for top picks and who they might be going after.

At the same time it’s also a fun method of predicting how the playoff race might shape up, what with the two teams picking last in the first round indicating who will make the Super Bowl.  Suffice to say there will be no shortage of surprises, both in the pecking order of teams nor the players they select.  As always everything starts with the quarterbacks.  Will it be another year of two going back-to-back right away or will there be a major shift to other positions?

As always it comes down to who is picking in those spots.
