NFC Playoff Predictions Before the Preseason
By Sam Weaver
NFC East: New York Giants
The NFC East has more division champion contenders than a lot of divisions in the NFL. The Dallas Cowboys getting starting quarterback Tony Romo back, added a nasty run game with Ezekiel Elliott, and still have a great offensive line. The Redskins, who won the division last season, have a spark at quarterback with Kirk Cousins, and added some offensive weapons for him in the offseason, including one of the better wideouts in the 2016 Draft, Josh Doctson.
The Giants held a lot of key pieces last season, including their reliable quarterback Eli Manning, and emerging superstar Odell Beckham Jr. They not only get receiver Victor Cruz back this year from injury, but also added a steal in the draft with wideout Sterling Shephard. The Giants used several draft picks to shore up their secondary as well, with playmakers Eli Apple and Darian Thompson joining the New York defense.
This division houses a lot of playmakers and could go any direction as far as a victor this season. The Giants had a great offseason and addressed many issues. They’ve formed an explosive offense and forceful defense, and seem poised to take the division this season.
