2016 Projection

Houston has a lot to overcome in the coming season to repeat as the AFC South Champions.  If the Texans want to make a significant playoff run, they will need a lot of key pieces to fall into place for them this season.

If Brock Osweiler is as good as advertised, the Texans will have a legitimate shot at a playoff berth this year.  Osweiler will be one of the biggest keys to success, alongside RB Lamar Miller and WR DeAndre Hopkins.  The offense will have to start firing on all cylinders, and stop relying on the Houston defense to carry them through games.

More from NFL Mocks

A comeback from Jadeveon Clowney could go a long way in helping the Texans’ defense get to the next level of play.  The Houston defense is the foundation of this team and they will need to continue to excel.

The Texans have the pieces in place to dominate their division.  If the offense can develop chemistry and the defense can be as reliable as it was last season, Houston could easily reach the postseason again.
