New Orleans Saints (6-10)

Biggest Strength:  Drew Brees

The future Hall of Famer looked like his old self last season as he routinely picked defenses apart on his way to the eighth-straight year in a Saints uniform with at least 30 touchdown passes.  Provided he has enough weapons to work with, and the arrivals of Coby Fleener and Michael Thomas indicate there should be, even at age 37 he should still be able to produce favorable numbers.

Biggest Weakness:  Offensive Line

Brees did was he did last season despite limited help from his offensive line.  This group is a farcry from the one that led the team to the Super Bowl seven years ago.  They allowed 31 sacks and produced the 31st ranked rushing attack in the NFL.  Hopes are high Andrus Peat can take the next step at right tackle, but that won’t solve their other problems up front.

Final Record Reason

In truth New Orleans really hasn’t solved their two biggest problems.  The offensive line has already been documented but also there’s the defense.  Even with the addition of 1st and 2nd round picks Sheldon Rankins and Vonn Bell, this unit remains under the direction of Dennis Allen.  It should be noted he’s never produced a unit that ranked higher than 18th in his career as a coordinator or head coach.  Considering the quarterbacks they’ll have to face, that’s a problem.
