Philadelphia Eagles (4-12)

Biggest Strength:  Defensive Front Seven

Adding defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz was a stroke of good fortune for Philadelphia.  He inherits a roster that is rich in young talent, particularly along the front seven with names like Fletcher Cox, Connor Barwin, Mychal Kendricks and Jordan Hicks in place.  If he has the same impact he did in Detroit and Buffalo, that front is going to create some havoc.

Biggest Weakness:  Quarterback

Perhaps a better way to phrase it is quarterback chemistry.  The Eagles have talent at the position for sure.  What they don’t have is continuity.  Sam Bradford may be the starter in 2016 but he has a cloud hanging over him with the knowledge he’ll likely be gone next season in favor of #2 overall pick Carson Wentz.  It’s historically tough to have winning seasons in such situations.

Final Record Reason

The odds say the Philadelphia Eagles will be looking for their first opportunity to insert Wentz as their starter at quarterback.  Aside from the lack of consistency that will create at such an important position, rookie QBs don’t win a ton of games anyway.  Cleaning up the mess left by Chip Kelly will take more than one off-season.
