2016 NFL Season: Final Record Predictions For All 32 Teams
By Erik Lambert
Arizona Cardinals (13-3)
Biggest Strength: Bruce Arians
There were a few choices for this category but at the end of the day the Cardinals are where they are today because of their head coach. Bruce Arians turned that franchise around so fast. It’s easy to forget they were a losing football team in 2012. From that he had them in the NFC championship this past season. The man is experienced, smart and one of the best motivators in the game. No doubt he’ll have things ready to go this year.
Biggest Weakness: Tight End
Most of the offense for Arizona has good pieces in place from the offensive line, the running game and the wide receivers. If there’s any area that hasn’t contributed much to their overall success, it’s the tight end position. Former 2nd round pick Troy Niklas has not panned out as hoped while Jermaine Gresham and Darren Fells are decent options but hardly prolific in any sense. It’s not an inspiring group and won’t be the reason this team wins.
Final Record Reason
What stands out most is how much better the Arizona Cardinals defense looks on paper. They were pretty good last year. Now get Tyrann Mathieu back healthy along with Chandler Jones and Robert Nkemdiche to supplement the pass rush and this is a recipe for devastation. If Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald can summon one more vintage season like last year, aided by a steady ground attack, this team is ready to finally claim their first Lombardi trophy.
