2016 NFL Season: Final Record Predictions For All 32 Teams
By Erik Lambert
Pittsburgh Steelers (12-4)
Biggest Strength: Offensive Line
The receiving corps was another option here but with the suspension of Martavis Bryant, it pushed the offensive line to the top of the heap. Headlined by their interior blocking of Maurkice Pouncey, David DeCastro and Ramon Foster the Steelers offense has become one of the best in football because of that front. They can open running lanes, they can keep Ben Roethlisberger upright and they have depth.
Biggest Weakness: Secondary
To their credit, Pittsburgh recognized their weakness on the back end of the defense and acted accordingly, using both their 1st (CB Artie Burns) and 2nd (S Sean Davis) round picks in that area. However, they’re still rookies and there’s no guarantee they will be able to help a unit that contributed to the 30th ranked pass defense in the NFL, allowing 271 yards per game.
Final Record Reason
If not for a series of injuries, the Steelers had the look of a team that was ready for a deeper playoff run. Even without Bryant their offense will still be dangerous, what with Le’Veon Bell returning. Provided their top two draft picks can led any kind of help to their pass defense, this team should have enough to win the AFC North crown.
