Los Angeles Rams (8-8)

Biggest Strength:  Defensive Line

Even with the loss of Chris Long, the front four of the Los Angeles Rams remains their power source.  Aaron Donald has emerged to become the best interior pass rusher in the league, and when healthy Robert Quinn is still  a major threat coming off the edge.  Throw Michael Brockers into that mix and it’s a group that can dictate the outcome of games almost by themselves.

Biggest Weakness:  Wide Receiver

Even with the addition of 4th round pick Pharoh Cooper, which is solid, the Rams receiving corps isn’t intimidating by any means.  Kenny Britt remains largely a big target who might make the occasional good grab.  Tavon Austin is a speedy option but hardly a go-to type and Brian Quick hasn’t done much to validate his stay on the team.  Maybe a new quarterback might change things, but that’s hard to imagine.

Final Record Reason

This team is build more than most to handle a rookie quarterback.  Jared Goff is an upgrade over anything they have at the position.  That defense and Todd Gurley running the football should win them some games.  Goff will make a few plays to add a couple more.  In the end they’ll take a step in the right direction but rookie QBs rarely make the playoffs.
