2016 NFL Season: Final Record Predictions For All 32 Teams
By Erik Lambert
Buffalo Bills (8-8)
Biggest Strength: Defense
As if this is any surprise. Rex Ryan is one of the most respected defensive minds in football and has produced quality units at every stop he’s made as both a coordinator and head coach in the NFL. The Bills just made three major additions to their unit with Shaq Lawson, Reggie Ragland and Adolphus Washington. Put them in front of a solid secondary and Buffalo should be ready to handle any offense they play against.
Biggest Weakness: Offensive Line
It’s a unit that allowed 42 sacks in 2015 and yet didn’t make any significant changes to its lineup. Keep in mind this was with Tyrod Taylor as their quarterback, a man who ran for over 500 yards. So to allow that many sacks on such a mobile player is a perfect indication of how inadequate their blocking is. It’s little wonder they prefer to run the ball so much.
Final Record Reason
The upgrades to the defense should get the Buffalo Bills where they want to be on that side of the ball, but history has shown Ryan rarely can do better than .500 even with his best units when he doesn’t have the offensive to compliment. They had the 28th ranked passing attack last season and changed nothing to help improve it. So why should a largely different outcome be expected?
