Dallas Cowboys (7-9)

Biggest Strength:  Offensive Line

As if there was any doubt of this.  The Cowboys offensive line is littered with first round picks, headlined by Pro Bowlers Tyron Smith and Zack Martin.  They just turned Darren McFadden into a 1,ooo-yard rusher and paved the way for the best rushing attack in football the year before that.  It’s a group that is talented, young, physical and works as hard or harder than anybody.

Biggest Weakness:  Pass Rush

Part of the reason the Dallas defense became so much more effective in 2015 was they finally fielded an able array of edge rushers.  Fast forward to today and their three best won’t be around for the first month of the season.  Greg Hardy is gone via free agency while Demarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory are both suspended for the first four games.  Rod Marinelli is a good defensive coordinator, but it will take some serious work to cover up those losses for that long.

Final Record Reason

The Dallas Cowboys will be able to run the football, but the lack of a pass rush combined with the inability of Tony Romo to withstand the pounding of a full NFL schedule makes it unlikely the team can string together the kind of year it had in 2014.  Chances are better they’ll get off to a bad start and move between periods of winning and setbacks.
