Kansas City Chiefs (7-9)

Biggest Strength:  The Defense

Aside from their increasing reliance on Derrick Johnson to do everything at inside linebacker and Justin Houston’s precarious injury situation, the Chiefs defense remains among the best in the NFL with quality players at every position from front to back.  Chris Jones will be a welcome addition to the front line and KeiVarae Russell an underrated one to the secondary at cornerback.

Biggest Weakness:  Wide Receiver

Andy Reid has a long history of getting the most from his passing attacks, but it seems ever since his Terrell Owens and Desean Jackson experiences, he’s been reluctant to invest more at wide receiver.  Jeremy Maclin is a star but outside of him is a string of names that won’t scary anybody from Albert Wilson to Rod Streater to Chris Conley.  Will anybody rise up to be the #2 guy?

Final Record Reason

The Chiefs have had a lot of moving parts the past few years and some key guys are getting onto the wrong side of 30.  Free agency took away some proven players again in 2015 and there’s the lingering threat of not having their best pass rusher for the entire year.  That’s enough to ward off the idea they can prevent experiencing a minor dip in wins this year.
