Detroit Lions (7-9)

Biggest Strength:  Defensive Line

Detroit was defined by their defense much the past two years and it’s really started with their front four.  Even after losing Ndamukong Suh they continued to have success in 2015, led by emerging star Ezekiel Ansah.  With A’Shawn Robinson arriving to join an already solid rotation, that defensive line should be able to handle its business once again, easing the burden on the secondary.

Biggest Weakness:  Wide Receiver

People don’t realize how big of a loss Calvin Johnson is.  His sheer presence on the field made life easier for other teammates around him.  To say nothing of how much Matthew Stafford leaned on him to make the play when they needed one.  With respect to Golden Tate and Marvin Jones, they are nowhere close to covering up the hole that just open up in their passing game.

Final Record Reason

So many factors are working against the Lions.  They’re missing their best offensive weapon  The offensive line is still a question mark and on top of that they might be in the most stacked division in football.  Throw in the added pressure on head coach Jim Caldwell, who knows he’s in a make-or-break year and it’s something that is bound to turn against them just one too many times.
