Baltimore Ravens: 2016 NFL Draft Grades
Coming out Nebraska, Lewis had many characters concerns away from the game concerning with fights after hours and trouble in the locker rooms. As one of the toughest teams in the NFL, I don’t think Lewis will have that problem in Baltimore but it still questions his process of thinking.
On tape, Lewis has legit second-third round talent but that changed with the off-field issues. He has a great upper body strength and ability to keep his base against faster speed rushers. Lewis plays with an admirable mean streak and competes from start to finish regardless of how the game is going. If the change is needed, Lewis could make the transition from tackle to guard and may be more suited to play at the position at the next level.
A talented tackle who could legitimately become a starting right tackle in the NFL, Lewis seems to be the right guy to take a chance on paper but that isn’t how the league works. Eugene Monroe seems to be the old man out with the emergence of Ronnie Stanley and Rick Wagner may get pushed out after the 2016 season. So the start of Lewis’s career may early the some expect.
