Aguayo kicked for 89% during his entire career at Florida State. Even more impressive was that he never missed from inside the 39 yard line during his four years.

Roberto Aguayo was one of the nations best kicker’s on the college level for the past three years. In 2014 he was a recipient of the Lou Groza award, an honor that recognizes that nations best kicker.

Aguayo is a native of Mascotte, Florida where he was rated the number three kicker overall by rivals. In his career at Florida State, Aguayo has never missed a PAT.

2015 Season Stats: 21 of 26 (5 of 10 from 40+), 49 of 49 point after touchdowns, 47 touchbacks on 84 kickoffs

Strengths

Aguayo kicked for 89% during his entire career at Florida State. Even more impressive was that he never missed from inside the 39 yard line during his four years. Aguayo features a strong leg that has seen an increase in touchbacks and increased hangtime on kickoffs.

He holds the school record for most points in a game by a kicker with 19 (against Wake Forest in 2014) and most points by a kicker in a season (157).

Weaknesses

While he’s been automatic from inside the 40, he has struggled stretching beyond that limit.

In 2015 he was just five for nine on field goals of 41 or longer and has only attempted six kicks of 50 yards or longer in his career. The lack of long distance attempts and accuracy will cause concern as defenses are becoming more of a focal point in today’s game.

Outlook

Aguayo has a chance to be the highest drafted kicker since Mike Nugent (2nd round of 2005) if he goes before the 4th. He has all the accolades and the mental calmness that you look for in a clutch kicker. While there are no safe picks in the draft, if there was one you could bet on for transition, Aguayo would be the pick
