2) San Francisco 49ers

Whenever you get two picks in the first round, you’re almost always going to have a great day.  And whenever you build in the trenches then you’re going to win points in my book.  That’s why I love what the 49ers did on day one, drafting DeForest Buckner and Joshua Garnett.

Buckner is a pass rushing DE who can get into the backfield in a hurry.  His hands are lightning fast and he uses his length to his advantage.  He’s also very good against the run with the strength to hold strong at the point of attack and the quickness to keep ball carriers from getting to the outside.  He’s a well rounded player who could become a start in the NFL.

With Garnett the 9ers are getting a physical, nasty blocker.  He is so powerful and can just bully his opponents, even those with NFL strength.  He was my number two rated guard and my top guard for a power running scheme.  Expect him to start right away and instantly improve that rushing offense.
