The final (no, really it’s the last one) Chicago Bears mock draft is at hand. What do they pull out of their hats this time around?

Few teams have done a more masterful job at masking their intentions going into the 2016 NFL draft than Chicago. Experts can see them going any number of ways from offense to defense to trading up and trading down. It’s all well-researched guesswork at this point. Still, there have been some interesting hints about the possibilities.

1st Round (via BUF)

57. There is a serious feeling among prominent Bears experts that GM Ryan Pace is keen on trading down in the 1st round to acquire at least one more solid pick. In this scenario the Buffalo Bills oblige. They are in the hunt for a new quarterback and since Paxton Lynch could be available at #11, with the Saints having interest at #12, they flip their 2nd rounder to the Bears in order to cut in and get their guy.

Unfazed by the shift in positioning, Pace still manages to secure a very talented young player for his defense. Coming out of Houston, it’s understandable why many are skeptical of cornerback William Jackson III. Not only does he come from a less competitive conference, but also holds the stigma of being a corner from the same school as D.J. Hayden, a prominent bust. Thing is the tape doesn’t lie. From size to speed to athleticism, length and ball skills, Jackson has everything the Bears just don’t have right now at that position.
.
