QB. North Dakota State. Carson Wentz. 2. player. 54. The trade up to 2nd overall was pretty much the writing on the wall in a sense of direction that the team is headed with rookie head coach Doug Pederson. With Goff for 1st, the Eagles “settle” for the 6’5 237 pound quarterback who is a two-time FCS champion as a starter at NDSU. The past two seasons, Wentz tossed for 42 touchdowns and displayed his underrated athleticism on a consistent basis. What also stands out about Wentz is his impressive accuracy and ability to make just about every single NFL throw possible. Goff may have the slight upside between the two but by no means is Wentz a slouch. The Wentz era begins.
