Measurables

Height: 6′ 0″

Weight: 198 lbs

Strengths

Adams has high expectations for himself and is a team leader. He was one of four captains his senior season. He’s strong, putting up 24 reps (225 pounds) at UConn’s pro day. He already has NFL size and experience playing both slot cornerback and safety. He knows what to do with the ball, running for 104 return yards off four turnovers as a junior. Adams stays in the moment and says the game slows down when he’s on the field playing.

Weaknesses

Adams lacks vertical for a defensive back, jumping only 9 feet, 10 inches in the broad jump and 32 inches in the vertical. However, Adams’ size could compensate for his lack of hops. He’s been a part of big plays but a handful of those were being in the right place at the right time with intercepting tipped or overthrown passes or scooping up fumbles. He played in the American Conference for three seasons so hardly played against power-five conference offenses.

Final thoughts

Adams versatility will land him a spot on an NFL roster. He can be moved throughout the secondary and has had success with all aspect of playing there. He appears confident with himself and that confidence will help him stay balanced at the next level. Look for Adams to be a sixth round draft pick and to be producing in someone’s secondary within the next few years.
