Andy Janovich, FB, Nebraska: 2016 NFL Draft Scouting Report
By Ross Woomer
Andy Janovich joined Nebraska’s football squad as a walk-on in 2012. Although he didn’t see much playing time until his senior season, Janovich had a season-to-remember in 2015.
Last year alone he was awarded the Tom Novak Award, an award presented to the senior who exemplifies courage and determination despite all odds, was Nebraska’s Lifter of the Year and an All-Big Ten coaches honorable mention.
Janovich had 13 tackles, 77 kick return yards and 271 rushing yards for five touchdowns during his career at Nebraska.

Arm length: 31 5/8 inches
Hand width 9 3/4 inches

Strengths
Janovich is versatile, playing on both offense and special teams during his senior season. He’s a good lead blocker, runs like a freight train when he breaks loose and can wrap-up ball carriers (11 solo special teams tackles in 2015, led team).
Janovich is a strong dude, he put up 30 reps (225 lbs) at the NFL Combine, four less than first overall.
Janovich had a breakout game his senior season against Southern Miss.
Weaknesses
Janovich had only one full season starting under his belt which exemplifies inexperience. He wasn’t used much in the pass game and had only two games where he carried the ball five or more times. Janovich is physically strong but will need to show what he’s made of early in rookie camps.
Potential Fits
Cincinnati Bengals, Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins, Pittsburgh Steelers

Final Thoughts
Janovich will fit on an NFL roster as a special teams player his first couple seasons, most likely. Fullbacks are fading away in the NFL but Janovich’s combination of strength and size may allow him to work his way into a lead-blocker role.
Since he played so little at Nebraska, he’ll need to stay healthy and become accustom to weekly game-reps in the NFL. Look for him to be selected either in the later rounds or become an undrafted free agent.
